Dermatopathology
The greatest challenge of dermatopathology is interpreting the vast number of skin diseases. With over 1,500 rashes and skin tumors, dermatopathology is among the most complex of all medical specialties.
Our physicians and staff have a three-pronged approach to the science and art of dermatopathology, utilizing accuracy, timeliness, and collaboration to serve patients and their physicians. In compliance with the recommendation of the American Academy of Dermatologists, dermatopathologists interpret skin biopsies. Synergy between histologists and physicians achieves PPA's top priority of accuracy.
Piedmont Pathology is one of the few pathology labs in NC to actually employ a dermatopathologist.
